Circle of Safety: Commercial Introduction Print

It’s risky to be in business these days. Business owners face fierce competition, random economic swings and strict government regulations. Besides that, unexpected disasters can hit a potentially successful business. Take these examples:

  • - Fire at a drycleaner. No insurance to pay for customer goods.
  • - A roof collapse at a toy store one month before Christmas. No insurance to re-open.
  • - Insurance on a fire-destroyed building. No insurance to cover pollution cleanup costs.

What You Need to Know about Term Life Insurance Print

T

erm life policies provide coverage for specific periods of time, sometimes as little as one year. While you usually can renew term life policies for one or more terms even if your health has changed, there’s potentially a big risk here if you get sick during the term.

* Tip. If your health does change, you probably won’t be able to buy another term without seeing your premium skyrocket. You should ask your insurer or agent what the premium will be if you continue to renew the policy.

* Note. You should also ask whether you will lose the right to renew the policy when you reach a certain age. Because this coverage is fairly cheap, it’s often a good option for young people in good health who can’t afford to buy a cash value life policy.

Two common features you may find, and should look for in term life policies:

How Do You Find the Right Insurance Company at the Right Price Point? Print

E

ven if you know exactly how much insurance you want or need, there’s another crucial element in this process. You have to find the combination of a great insurance agent AND insurance company that will provide the coverage you want at the right price point.

An insurance agent can be invaluable in helping find the right company.

* Note. There are tens of thousands of insurance agents representing thousands of insurance companies in this country that sell auto, homeowners and other coverages individuals need. No two companies offer all of the exact same policies. Some companies want only certain types of drivers or homeowners. Some offer higher limits. Some offer what might be described as bare-bones coverage.

* Note. There are at least six different coverages that are part of auto insurance!

* Note. Homeowners insurance policies have limits on what they will cover in terms of possessions, particularly jewelry, fine art and computer equipment. Many insurers offer substantial discounts (10%, even 20%) if you insure both your auto and homeowners policies with them at the same time!

Does the insurance company offer what is called, an "umbrella" policy, which provides additional liability coverage over the limits of your homeowners and auto policies? Do you even need an umbrella policy?

How do you find what’s best for you?

You could shop on the Internet for insurance. There are numerous sites that have price quotes for auto, homeowners and life insurance policies. But what coverage is available under these policies? And how can you be sure that you’re buying enough coverage? Who can you call to ask questions to, or get advice from if you get stuck or are unsure about how a particular coverage works, what it covers and all the contingencies associated with it?

The Tara Newby Story Print
User Rating: / 1
PoorBest

This is a tough story to watch.

I get the feeling that Tara's husband, Preston, was the kind of fellow that everybody would like to have in their lives.

For my client's and friends, I feel that this story really shows why I feel so strongly about life insurance. There is no question - Everybody needs it.

We can get bogged down in all types of reasons for not taking action. Ask, yourself if any of the following excuses sound familiar?

- We don't like to think about the inevitable end to our lives. (To be sure, this is difficult, but not facing it does not mean your death will not happen).
- Perhaps we are concerned about money & budget, "how can we afford another expense?" (How can we not afford to cover our loved ones, our spouses, children, parents?)
- "We are young, we don't need it." (Tara's husband was in his 20s)
- "We have life insurance at work." (What happens when you get laid off, or when they stop paying for that benefit for you?)... Worse - what happens if you wait too long because you have this benefit, then go to apply for life insurance that you will own and cannot qualify?

These are all reasons I have heard from various people over the years, and in my estimation, especially when considering Tara and Preston's story, none of these are good reasons to avoid the most important coverage you will ever put in place.

Perhaps you have never met an agent who took the time to sit down and visit with you about what you need to put in place before the unexpected happens.

As I have told all of my clients when I sit down with them for their original appointment. I consider life insurance to be the "Higher Calling" of what I do as an insurance agent. When I put the life insurance policies in force for families, I know that I have had an eternal impact on their lives. The people that they love and care about will not have to lose everything in the event that their loved one loses their life.

Please call me today, it is quick, easy, and painless to get this most important and essential coverage in place - this is the one type of policy that truly matters.

I'll look forward to hearing from you today!
