Marketers work to increase Agency Policies in Force by contacting potential prospects via telephone. Using scripts, Marketers contact and inform prospects of the company’s products or services for the purpose of securing sales appointments for Agents or Agency Producers. Marketers are responsible for tracking marketing methods used, as well as outcomes.

Core job duties include, but are not limited to:

  – Contact businesses or private individuals by telephone in order to secure appointments for Agent/Producer follow up
  – Obtain prospect information such as name, address, and payment method, and current insurance and risk information
  – Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted
  – Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals
  – Telephone or write letters in response to correspondence from customers, or to follow up on initial sales contacts
  – Maintain records of contacts and activity
  – Schedule appointments for Agent/Producer to meet with prospective customers
  – Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that persuade potential prospects to meet with Agent/Producer with the intent to purchase insurance products
  – Perform other duties as assigned

[ac_section title=”Customer Service Rep”]

Customer Service Representatives work to maximize positive customer experiences by responding to customer inquiries or complaints regarding the company’s products or services. They will communicate with internal and external customers about basic underwriting guidelines, policies, and marketing initiatives to service customer accounts. Additionally, Customer Service Representatives will analyze, clarify, and resolve policy and account-related questions.

Core job duties include (but are not limited to):

  – Must be licensed
  – Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to help the customer identify specific products and solutions
  – Solicit, sell and negotiate new business policies
  – Review renewal business and identify appropriate follow-up action based on degree of change
  – Cross-sell/up-sell products to existing customers
  – Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken
  – Assist with the annual review process by contacting customers and preparing personalized customer coverage recommendations based on customer’s needs
  – Perform risk analysis and field underwriting

  – Refer unresolved customer grievances or complex customer interactions to senior team member

Once the Customer Service Representative has successfully established themself as a leader in the department, they may be promoted to a senior position called an Account Executive. Account Executives are proven leaders who manage the business results of a specific business unit within the Agency and are responsible for replacing the daily functions of an Agent. Tenure, experience, and ability to consistently exceed job expectations are all indicators of a CSR who is ready for an Account Executive position in the Agency.

Core job duties include (but are not limited to):

  – Must be licensed
  – Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to help the customer identify specific products and solutions
  – Solicit, sell, and negotiate new business policies
  – Review renewal business and conduct appropriate follow up based on degree of change
  – Cross-sell/up-sell products to existing customers

  – Conduct annual reviews with customers

  – Manage and train new Agency Producers (APs), including reviewing all new business paperwork submitted by APs
  – Manage daily activities of other team members, including prioritizing items for Customer Service Representatives
  – Diffuse difficult and complex customer interactions
  – Monitor sales results for business unit and implement correction action if goals are not met

Directly contributes to and supports sales goals of the Agency or specialist department as communicated from the Agent to meet long-term and short-term goals for Agency growth. This includes new business, cross-sell opportunities, customer service, retention, and profit goals.

  – Must be licensed
  – Solicits and writes new business for his/her specialist department
  – Coordinates with the Agent and/or operations manager to provide assistance in determining proper coverage
  – Field underwriting and rating for new accounts
  – Maintains knowledge of new products and initiatives. Pursues a program for development of personal and business skills
  – Actively solicits expiration dates from new clients and prospects
  – Develops Agency relationship with existing clients
  – Meets the production requirements and goals assigned by the Agent or Agency manager
  – Maintains monthly sales records and provides a copy for review to the Agent and/or operations manager
  – Performs other duties as assigned
